Photos: Orange Bowl stadium undergoing $425M upgrade
A semifinal college football national championship game will be played in the middle of a construction zone. The Orange Bowl stadium is undergoing a $425 million renovation, including the addition of a roof that will put about 90% of the seats in the shade. Eight columns have been erected to hold the canopy, and in January crews will begin to lift the 14,000 tons of steel currently being assembled in the parking lot. The work is expected continue throughout 2016.
