The AAFP has joined the Rebuild Rural Infrastructure Coalition and will "be the voice of expertise" about primary care in rural areas for the group of more than 240 organizations, said Julie Wood, M.D., AAFP senior vice president for health of the public, science and interprofessional activities. The AAFP is the only physician organization in the group, which is focused on agricultural research, health care, housing, energy, transportation, water, broadband internet and financing.
