US, EU urged to improve trade with Asia-Pacific nations
The Asia-Pacific region remains a powerful end-market for the US, and both the US and the EU must take steps to strengthen trade relations with Asian nations, said German research institute Ifo. The American Chemistry Council supported a 2018 proposal to rejoin the Trans-Pacific Partnership, but the US failed to do so and China filled the gap left by the US in the region by joining the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, Ifo said.
