The advertising industry's Joint Policy Committee and The Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists will allow COVID-19 vaccination mandates for commercial auditions and filming sessions. "Prior to this agreement, the union had been approving mandatory vaccination policies for commercial productions on a case-by-case basis consistent with the direction of the national board," SAG-AFTRA stated.

"Black Panther" ensemble gets top honors at SAG

Marvel's "Black Panther" ensemble was given top honors at the 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards last Sunday, potentially setting it up for a best film win at next month's Oscars, as half of SAG ensemble winners in the past 10 years have won best picture at the Academy Awards. Other notable SAG honorees include Rami Malek, Glen Close and Mahershala Ali in their respective acting categories.

Performers at Spanish-language network Telemundo may vote on whether to join the SAG-AFTRA union, the National Labor Relations Board says. The union last year accused Telemundo, which is owned by NBCUniversal, of treating its Spanish-speaking performers like "second-class citizens."

SAG to honor Lily Tomlin with Lifetime Achievement Award

Lily Tomlin will receive the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award on Jan. 29 in Los Angeles. Tomlin, the 53rd recipient of the award, first entered the TV business in 1969 and is currently starring in "Grace and Frankie" on Netflix.
