The Natural Resources Defense Council and a group including Earthjustice, the NAACP and other organizations have filed separate lawsuits challenging the Environmental Protection Agency's revised lead rule. "Communities exposed to dangerous levels of lead in water expected the new rule to focus on removing lead pipes from the ground, the actual remedy to keep families safe," said Suzanne Novak of Earthjustice.
