The Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian combat helicopter will go into full rate production under a $436.7 million contract with the US Army. The helicopter includes the Northrop Grumman AN/APG-78 Longbow fire control radar system.

The RotorX Palledrone autonomous resupply aircraft is being reviewed by the US Army under the Expeditionary Warrior Experiments program. The aircraft, which sets up within a few minutes, has a capacity of up to 45 kilograms and an eight-kilometer range.

Two Windsor, Va., police officers -- one of whom has been fired -- are facing a lawsuit accusing them of drawing their firearms on and spraying a substance at a US Army officer who was in uniform during a traffic stop. The Dec. 5 incident involving Army 2nd Lt. Caron Nazario, who is Black and Latino, was captured on video and has prompted a criminal investigation by the Virginia State Police.

An augmented reality device that can simulate a variety of weather conditions with the potential to impair visibility while flying has been developed by Tyson Phillips, a US Army pilot and president of AT Systems, and Brett Harlow, a pilot for Axxeum, a company that provides search and rescue, charter and firefighting flights. The training tool is meant to closely replicate dangerous, real-world scenarios faced by helicopter pilots and teach them to successfully manage visual and vestibular confusion.
