Research firm J. Thelander Consulting has published data that private equity professionals are receiving larger salaries this year. The survey polled 166 private equity firms and found that bonuses in 2018 increased over 2017.

Transitions
Ruth Dreessen has joined Sole Source Capital as an operating partner. Dreessen brings decades of experience in private equity, investment banking and industry.

Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe brings Simon Britton onboard as an operating partner. Britton has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical sector.

David Perotti joins Align Capital Partners as an operating partner in the firm's Dallas office. Perotti was most recently the CEO of eRecruit.

Pilot enjoys Dream Flight in a Stearman, is honored with FAA Master Pilot award

Barton "Bart" Welsh has been honored with the Federal Aviation Administration's Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50-plus years and more than 6,000 hours of safe flying. Welsh recently enjoyed a flight in a Stearman courtesy of the Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation.

RWE begins operations at U.K. offshore wind farm

RWE has begun operations at its Gwynt y Mor offshore wind farm off the coast of Wales. The project features 160 turbines and has a total capacity of 576 megawatts. "Local companies have been among those to benefit during construction and the site will bring high-quality employment and opportunities for years to come," said Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones. Forty percent of the company's renewable electricity-generating capacity will come from offshore wind farms, said CEO Hans Bunting.
