Bill takes aim at deceptive claims by health professionals
A bipartisan bill in the U.S. House would make it illegal for health care professionals to make false or deceptive claims about their training, degree, license or clinical expertise in advertisements or marketing materials. The bill would task the Federal Trade Commission with deciding which acts and practices would be considered deceptive and cases in which such claims result in harm.
