Analysis: Prescription coverage could vary greatly by state
Basic prescription drug coverage available through health insurance exchanges will differ from state to state under the Affordable Care Act, according to Avalere Health. More than 99% of FDA-approved drugs would be covered in some states, while no more than 45% of available treatments would be covered in other states. Connecticut, New Hampshire, Arizona and Virginia are among states whose benchmarks would require more treatments to be covered, while Michigan, Maryland and California are among the states where coverage could be tighter.
