Students at an Iowa high school who participate in Science Bound -- a program started by Iowa State University -- meet every week after school to engage in projects related to science, technology, engineering and math. The program, which involves a commitment by the students to maintain a certain GPA and attend at least 75% of the activities, is designed especially to help get traditionally underrepresented groups of students, such as minorities, interested in STEM careers.
