Informed patients have lower projected health care costs
Data on 33,610 patients revealed those who demonstrated the greatest knowledge and confidence in making informed medical decisions and healthy choices had projected health care costs that were 8% lower on average than those who had the lowest knowledge and confidence scores. The findings were published in Health Affairs.
