CEOs of 2 major hotel chains say industry is headed toward growth
The global hotel industry should see strong gains in 2013 as consumers from emerging markets continue to bolster travel demand, said Denis Hennequin, chairman and CEO of Accor; and Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton Worldwide, during a session at the Hotel Investment Conference Europe in London. "The delta between supply growth and demand growth will be greater next year, and that will result in more pricing power, particularly in the U.S.," Nassetta said. The two executives pointed out significant growth opportunities in the luxury segment, particularly in the Middle East and Asia- Pacific regions.
