Penn State secures $1M to develop nanotech drug-delivery method
Pennsylvania State University received a research grant from the state worth $1 million to further develop a nanotechnology drug-delivery technique for accurate targeting of breast cancer tumors. A research team developed "nanojackets" that use calcium phosphocillate nanoparticles to carry siRNA drugs. Researchers said it will take more than a year to prepare an investigational new drug application.
