$3.6B Elgin-O’Hare project in Ill. gets approval

The Illinois Tollway can start to build the $3.6 billion toll road replacement for the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway after receiving approval from the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Aviation Administration. Work includes extending the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway east, widening it and converting it to a toll road. The project is expected to be completed in the next 12 years.
