AIA: 66,500 construction, design jobs could be cut due to sequestration
About $2 billion worth of construction and design projects would be eliminated if scheduled federal budget cuts referred to as sequestration take effect on Jan. 2, according to a report by the American Institute of Architects. An estimated 66,500 jobs from the design and construction industry would be lost, the AIA reports.
