Ground broken for world's biggest arched concrete dam
Iran has started work on the Bakhtiari Dam, the "world's biggest arched concrete dam." The dam's crest will be nearly 1,700 feet long at a height of about 1,066 feet. The dam will have six 250-MW turbines, according to the plans.
