Abbreviated treatment with new antibiotic may clear skin infections
Bacterial skin infections in patients who took 200 milligrams of tedizolid phosphate daily for six days cleared as well as infections in patients who took 600 milligrams of linezolid twice daily for 10 days in a Phase III clinical trial. Rates of side effects were similar in both groups. The findings were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
