Colorado-based startup Boulder Wind Power is developing a lightweight motor for wind turbine generators that features a circuit board design. The design cuts down the machine's total weight, "and it translates into cost savings because you don't have to build a heavy foundation and tower," said CEO Andy Cukurs.
