Don't rely on cookie-cutter leadership strategies
Leadership shouldn't rely too much on uniform, "six steps to managing"-type leadership guides, says Karl Heiselman, CEO of Wolff Olins. Every employee is different, and bosses need to tailor their approaches to individual workers' needs. "[W]hen you're communicating with somebody ... you're trying to get the best work out of them.
