Apple and Samsung Electronics together accounted for roughly 37% of all smartphones and computers (desktop, laptop and tablets) sold in the third quarter globally, according to IDC. Apple's computers and mobile devices are generally more expensive than Samsung's, while the Korean company sells more products in volume than Apple, the market research firm noted.
