Student's prosthesis invention claims national prize
An engineering student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was recognized during the National Collegiate Inventors competition for an idea he says he dreamed up as a freshman. Eric Ronning's printable prosthetic hand made from the image of a patient's existing hand isn't just winning him awards. The device, called reHand, is also the genesis for his startup company Re, which he is in the process of launching with help from UW's Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic.
