Brands hope Turkey Day e-mails will get shoppers talking
Thanksgiving Day is the third-busiest day of the year for sending branded e-mails, with 80% of major retailers planning to send out e-mails while their customers dig into their turkey feasts. That's up from 60% in 2010 and 45% in 2009, with retailers saying Thanksgiving has overtaken Black Friday as the unofficial start of the holiday-shopping season.
