Overwhelmed by BB10 app submissions, RIM extends deadline
A glut of entries has forced Research In Motion to extend the deadline of its "Built for BlackBerry" application submission program. RIM is paying $100 per submission to developers and promising $10,000 in revenue to any app making $1,000 or more. "It could prove a costly strategy for RIM, but the manufacturer is showing it [realizes] how make-or-break important apps are to a new OS, something which has historically been a weakness," Alex Spencer writes.
