Archaeologists find water wells dating back 7,000 years
The discovery of wooden wells in eastern Germany suggests that woodworking skills were present among farmers in the region going back about 7,000 years, according to a study recently published in the journal PLoS One. "The first farmers were also the first carpenters," wrote Willy Tegel, a researcher at the Institute for Forest Growth at the University of Freiburg in Germany.
