A six-month debate on energy policy started this week in France as part of the country's efforts to restructure the production and consumption of energy. The discussions will allow the French to address the future of nuclear power. President Francois Hollande pledged in the elections to reduce the share of nuclear power in the country's electricity mix from the current 75% to 50% by 2025 and to increase renewable energy generation.
