Cornell's net-zero tech campus in N.Y. advances
Cornell University's proposal to build a 2-million-square-foot tech campus on Roosevelt Island has been approved by the New York City Council. The campus will use solar and geothermal power as energy sources to go beyond what is needed for net-zero energy. Construction of the campus, which will house 2,000 full-time graduate students and include a hotel, will begin in 2014.
