Commentary: More drivers opt for user-based auto insurance
More drivers are signing up for user-based auto insurance to save on coverage costs, writes Randall Stross, a professor at San Jose State University. Shamik Lala of consulting firm A.T. Kearney says motorists with good driving records are drawn to such insurance options, and that insurers will classify those who decide against user-based insurance as bad risks.
