As they craft the 2014 Defense Department spending plan, Pentagon budget writers say they are not planning for sequestration cuts to defense. "We are still hopeful that Congress will pass a balanced deficit reduction plan that the president can sign, and sequestration is averted," Pentagon spokeswoman Lt. Col.
