House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, sent a letter last week to Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki saying that the VA has not shown any improvement in handling disability claims in the four years that Shinseki has headed the department. Boehner asked for an explanation within 30 days as to why the claims backlog is so high.
