"Second, separate sequestration" is pending, report says
The Pentagon would have to cut $60.6 billion, not $50.5 billion, under looming defense cuts, according to House Democrats' reading of the recent Office of Management and Budget report on the cuts, amounting to a "second, separate sequestration," said Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash. The 20% increase in defense cuts is due to the lowering of what can be spent on security, Dicks says, and would mean cuts to military installations, the Joint Strike Fighter program and even health benefits paid to military families and veterans out of nonexempt accounts.
