Microsoft brings Xbox closer to wireless, Web-based devices
Smartphones and tablets running new Windows Phone software will be able to work as second screens for games and other Xbox offerings as part of Microsoft's plans to connect a range of devices to the gaming console under Windows 8 software, the company is expected to announce today. "We want to seamlessly connect devices," Microsoft's Jose Pinero said. Windows 8 will also include an application to support the Skype VoIP service when the operating system arrives in stores Friday.
