DEG: Home entertainment spending trends upward slightly
Through the first nine months of 2012, consumer spending on home entertainment has increased by 1% to $12.34 billion, compared with $12.22 billion in the same period of 2011, according to DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group. Third-quarter sales grew only 0.24% from a year ago to $3.94 billion from $3.93 billion. The increase is being led by gains in Blu-ray disc sales, electronic distribution and subscription streaming, the market research firm reported.
