Research explores diabetes and PCI mortality
Regardless of whether they were on insulin treatment, older patients with diabetes who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention were at higher risk of myocardial infarction and death compared with those who do not have diabetes, a study found. The results were published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
