Will marketers warm to Facebook's paid-messaging service?:
Facebook's messaging function has received a lukewarm response, with about 26% of users saying they use the service "very often" and 90% saying they wouldn't be willing to pay $1 to send a message to someone who wasn't a part of their network. The service might have more appeal for marketers, however. "Now that marketers can pay to appear on a user's newsfeed, the ability to send relevant and targeted private messages to likers of their brand -- rather than simply respond to user posts or messages -- may soon be on the horizon," this unbylined article says.
