Brands see potential in Snapchat and Poke
Brands are tentatively exploring the use of Snapchat and Facebook Poke, which let users share images and videos that "self-destruct" after a few seconds. One lingerie brand tapped into the services' salacious reputation by posting a short clip of a model donning the brand's underwear, while other companies are simply using the service to offer discount coupons. "It's just kind of where our users are going at the moment. ... We figured, 'Why not?' and we gave this a chance," said Adam Britten, community manager for frozen yogurt chain 16 Handles.
