The Obama administration clarified its position on cybersecurity in response to concerns from the technology sector that a pending executive order could amount to an endorsement for one or more commercial solutions. In an amended draft proposal the White House pledged that its cybersecurity guidance will remain "technology neutral" and called on the Treasury and Commerce departments to consider incentives designed to promote voluntary participation.
