ClassTag is a free cloud tool that designed to help teachers manage home-school communication and boost engagement with parents. Among its features, the platform lets teachers to organize events, schedule meetings with parents and match parents' skills with class and school needs.

Video tool supports teacher observation, coaching

Edthena is a web-based platform that lets teachers record and share video of their teaching practices and receive feedback from peers and teacher coaches. Edthena offers an app for iOS users.

Discovery offers catalog of virtual field trips

Discovery is hosting virtual fields for K12 students on a range of subjects, including science and engineering, social studies, literacy and math. Teachers can search for field trips by subject, grade level and theme at Discovery's website.

Smartphone app connects student athletes to coaches

SchollyMe is a free app that allows student athletes showcase their skills to prospective college coaches, as early as eighth grade. The app, available for Android and iOS, lets athletes share game film, highlight reels, transcripts, SAT and ACT scores and receive a professional evaluation.

IES unveils upgraded What Works Clearinghouse

The Institute of Education Sciences has updated its What Works Clearinghouse website. The upgraded site includes a new search feature, Find What Works, that lets users find interventions, backed by scientific evidence, that have a proven positive effect on student outcomes.
