Teachers often receive “one-and-done” professional development training. Unfortunately this model does not provide crucial follow-up support for attendees.
Messaging apps like Voxer provide a way to learning going long after the session finishes. Voxer lets users make groups based on interests or needs. These groups are an easy way for educators to connect with PD trainers and each other – asynchronously or synchronously – for additional collaboration and support. Offer weekly tips or ideas in the Voxer group, along with a check in to see how participants are doing implementing what they learned with you. Encourage others to share with each other. Who says you have to be the only leading voice?
