SmartPulse — our weekly reader poll in Smartbrief on Workforce — tracks feedback from leading managers and HR practitioners. We run the poll question each Wednesday in our e-newsletter.
Last week, we asked: Do you plan to give pay increases in 2011?
- Yes — we plan to do across-the-board pay increases, 39%
- Yes — we plan to do selective pay increases, 39%
- No — we plan to keep pay frozen or have decreases, 22%
This is great news. Almost 80% of companies are looking to give pay increases in 2011. It won’t come a moment too soon for employees who are looking for a new position. Although pay isn’t necessarily the only way to retain your key employees, it is a step in the right direction.
