SmartPulse — our weekly nonscientific reader poll in SmartBrief for CFOs — tracks feedback from leading CFOs and senior finance executives. We run the poll question each Wednesday in our e-newsletter.
Last week, we asked: Who does your company prefer to hire?
- Doesn’t matter whether they are employed or unemployed as long as they are qualified — 85.59%
- Employed people because they are obviously good at what they do — 11.79%
- Unemployed people because they are readily available and happy to have a job — 2.62%
With nearly 86% of you responding that you would hire the most qualified irrespective of employment status, you are bucking the status quo. These results are polar opposite to everything in the press these days … and will no doubt boost the confidence of the unemployed.
