Top 10: Top candy companies, Unilever’s drone plans, Walmart’s Super Bowl ad

Ben & Jerry's

This week’s most-clicked story by SmartBrief food and beverage readers is Candy Industry’s rankings of the top 100 candy companies in the world. The list includes net sales, employee numbers and their list of products. The news that Unilever is partnering with drone company Terra Drone Europe with the plan to offer delivery services for its Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in New York took the No. 2 spot.

Walmart’s first-ever Super Bowl ad, which focused on the retailer’s curbside pickup initiative, also grabbed readers this week. Also in the food retail world, news of a possible Whole Foods Market store redesign and the closure of all Earth Fare locations made waves.

On the restaurant side, readers were interested in news of P.F. Chang’s new small-format To-Go concept, the first of which opened in Chicago this week. The locations have no tables for dining in and third-party services including DoorDash and Postmates will handle delivery.
