Government faces shortage of experts to prevent computer attacks

The U.S. government is having trouble recruiting computer-security experts. The dearth of talent comes at a time when attacks are on the increase, and some government agencies are competing in bidding wars with one another. Attacks reported to the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team tripled between 2006 and 2008.
