AVMA incentive program aims to address food-animal vet shortage

AVMA and the American Veterinary Medical Foundation are collaborating on a program designed to address a nationwide shortage of food-animal veterinarians. Under the Food Animal Veterinarian Recruitment and Retention Program, vet students who commit to work for four years in the food-animal field can be eligible to receive financial incentives in the form of student-loan debt repayment.
