Experts consider nursing shortage solutions

The dean of the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College says the school is introducing a new doctoral program to help increase the number of faculty to teach undergraduate nursing programs, a critical step in easing the nation's nursing shortage. The president of the Missouri Nurses Association says attracting nurses requires "healthy places to work" that are free of low salaries, staff shortages and mandatory overtime.
