Presence of performers with disabilities on screen, stage slowly growing

Zack Weinstein, an actor who uses a wheelchair, joined the cast of the television show "Glee" on Tuesday, portraying a character who has a spinal-cord injury. Weinstein joins the ranks of a small, but growing, number of actors with disabilities who are winning such roles and increasing their presence on stage and screen. However, some say much more still needs to be done to level the playing field for performers with disabilities.
