Commentary: New derivatives rules could end big banks' advantages

Paula Dwyer, a member of the Bloomberg View editorial board, writes that the rules the Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved last week should make the derivatives business less costly for corporate end users by making it more competitive and safer by improving transparency. That, ultimately, should transfer the information advantage from big dealers to end users and thus weaken the stranglehold that big banks have on the industry, Dwyer writes.
