Study: HIV patients have higher end-stage renal disease rate

The incidence of end-stage renal disease was almost four times higher among patients with HIV compared with the rate for all U.S. adults, according to a study presented at a meeting of the International AIDS Society. The findings suggest "the need for greater surveillance, prevention and treatment of comorbidities among HIV-infected adults," researchers said.
