Do International Baccalaureate graduates have an advantage?

John Walmsley, principal of UWC Atlantic College in south Wales, writes in this commentary that International Baccalaureate and Scottish Higher students may have a leg up in applying -- and qualifying -- for higher-education places. "In essence the true benefit of the head start at clearing offered to IB and Scottish Higher graduates is additional time to weigh one's options," he writes. "University selection requires a level headed, informed and considered approach."
