Instagram pushes geodata with third-generation upgrade

Instagram debuted the third iteration of its photo-sharing platform this week, which boasts a number of new features, including an application that lets users plot the location of their photos on an interactive map. The company -- which is in the process of finalizing its acquisition by Facebook -- hopes the maps feature will entice more users to include geodata in their posts.
