Researchers say stage IV CRC patients need tests for Lynch syndrome

University of Pittsburgh researchers recommended all patients with stage IV colorectal cancer be screened for Lynch syndrome because their study found existing pathology models used to predict it failed to flag as many as 13% of Lynch syndrome-associated colorectal tumors. Researchers said both the PREDICT and MSPath models missed Lynch syndrome-related tumors mainly due to shortcomings linked to their reliance on right-side detection.
